To gather a cross section of Marshall to demonstrate together the liberating grace of God in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
We believe God calls us to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:16-20). Therefore, we will be, and lead others to be, Spirit-transformed disciples of Jesus (John 3:3) who are fully and joyfully committed:
- to the Word made flesh and the word he teaches (John 8:31-32),
- to Jesus’ people (John 13:34-35), and
- to mirror Jesus in character, conduct, and influence (John 15:8).
We believe God’s Kingdom includes people from every race, socio-economic group, and gender (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:16-18; Galatians 3:28; Revelation 7:9-10). Therefore, we will welcome and include people from all walks of life into fellowship and leadership. We will also intentionally involve ourselves with other cultures, both in our city and around the world.
We believe God calls every believer to the ministry of disciple-making (Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11-13). Therefore we will discover and walk in our calling, both individual and corporate. We will also affirm and celebrate God’s gifts to each person and enable the full exercise of those gifts.
We believe the mission of God is to reclaim creation in its entirety (Matthew 6:9-10; Romans 8:19-21; Philippians 3:19-21). Therefore, we will bring the abundant life of Christ to the full range of human experience—physical, intellectual, emotional, social, ecological, and spiritual (Luke 2:52; 4:17-19; Matthew 9:35; Acts 10:36-38).
