In this model, the church sells the main property to a developer and leases back space for church use in a long term agreement. These agreements have helped other churches reinvigorate their ministry and support local community needs and growth.
We would first partner with a broker to determine fair price and work with a team like Enterprise’s Faith Based Development Initiative to ensure all steps are properly considered. We could choose a developer with a shared vision for community ministry/support. The cost and management of renovation and new ventures would pass primarily to the developer. Funding through grants may be more likely if the ownership of the building shifts from the church.
